Are they becoming benevolent, participative business partners with a genuine desire to be part of a winning team - or moving in that direction? Or will they revert to what they were before the recession - an arms-length hirer out of money, repayable on demand (often exercised too readily and often unexpectedly) and always keen to have good security.
